General Information
RideKey is a compatible RF-DESS™ key designed for BRP® vehicles including Sea-Doo®, Ski-Doo®, Can-Am®, Switch®, Ryker®, Maverick®, and Lynx® models from 2015 and newer. It functions exactly like your original key but at a fraction of the cost, and requires no dealer programming.
RideKey is compatible with 2015 and newer BRP® vehicles that use the RF DESS™ key system, including:
- Sea-Doo® watercraft
- Ski-Doo® snowmobiles
- Can-Am® ATVs and side-by-sides
- Can-Am® Ryker® on-road vehicles
- Can-Am® Maverick® sport models
- Can-Am® Switch® pontoon boats
- Lynx® snowmobiles
No, RideKey is an aftermarket accessory and is not manufactured by, associated with, nor endorsed by Bombardier Recreational Products, Inc. (BRP®). All trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners.
We are sorry to say that without your original RF DESS™ key, you can not order a RideKey. RideKey can only duplicate your original key. You will have to contact your dealer to purchase and program a new RF DESS™ key. After this, we strongly suggest to order a RideKey to protect you against loss in the future!
Do this NOW, even if you are not ready to purchase a RideKey! It's free, and only takes a moment of your time! Use the RideKey app to read your original RF DESS™ key. Then use the Key Management button and click on the "Save Safety Backup of Keys" button. Save the file securely on your phone, or back it up somewhere secure. In the future, if ever needed, even if the RideKey app is uninstalled, you will be able to import this this file into the RideKey app to order a RideKey.

No! That's one of the best features of RideKey. Unlike OEM replacement keys, RideKey does not require dealer programming. When you read your original key with the RideKey app, we create a fully compatible duplicate that works immediately with your vehicle.
Yes! Once you've read your original key with the RideKey app, you can order as many RideKeys as you need for that vehicle. This is perfect for family members, friends, or keeping spares in different locations.
No! RideKey only can duplicate the exact functionality of the key used when read by the RideKey app. If you own multiple keys types such as a Learner, or Performance Key, read each one separately and give it an appropriate name in the RideKey app to avoid confusion. Then order a RideKey of each type of key. In this case, you may want to order a different color for each type of key to avoid confusion in the future.
Mobile App
The RideKey app is available for both iOS (iPhone) and Android devices. Your phone must have NFC (Near Field Communication) capability to read the RF DESS™ key. Most modern smartphones have this feature built-in.
Most smartphones made after 2015 have NFC capability. On iPhone 7 and newer, NFC is built-in. For Android devices, you can check in Settings under "Connected devices" or "Connections." The RideKey app will also notify you if your device is not NFC-compatible.
Ordering & Shipping
Each RideKey is custom-made to order based on your original key. Production typically takes 7-10 business days, but sometimes as fast as 1 day, followed by shipping time. Domestic orders usually arrive within 2-5 business days after shipping, while international orders may take longer depending on customs and location.
Yes! We ship RideKey to many countries worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery times vary by location. International orders may be subject to customs duties and taxes, which are the responsibility of the customer.
Yes! During the ordering process in the app, you can choose from available colors and quantities. This allows you to personalize your RideKey or order different colors for different family members, differnt vehicles, or performance modes.

Pricing & Payment
RideKey is significantly less expensive than OEM replacement keys from the dealer. Pricing is displayed in the app during checkout and varies based on quantity, shipping location, and any current promotions. You'll see the complete cost before completing your purchase. Also, unlike the OEM key, there is no need to bring your vehicle to the dealer for programming a RideKey! RideKey will work immediately when you receive it. If you would like to order a quantity of RideKeys, you may contact us to discuss a quantity discount.
We accept all major credit cards and debit cards through our secure payment processor, Stripe. Payment processing is handled securely, and we never store your complete card information.
Safety & Usage
Important: RideKey is not a safety device and does not include a safety tether. Always use your original OEM key and tether when operating any vehicle where a tether is required for safety. Use RideKey as a backup or spare key only.
RideKey is an aftermarket accessory that is fully compatible with your original OEM key. Your vehicle can't tell the difference between a RideKey and the original key! However, we recommend consulting your vehicle's warranty documentation or contacting your dealer if you have specific warranty concerns.
Troubleshooting
First, verify that your original key still works with your vehicle. If the original key works but RideKey doesn't, please contact our support team through the Contact page with your order details. We'll help troubleshoot the issue and provide a solution.
Ensure your phone's NFC is enabled and that you're removing your phone from any case that might interfere with NFC reading. Hold the key flat against the back of your phone and move it slowly until the app detects it. If problems persist, try restarting the app or your phone.
Privacy & Security
Yes. We take security seriously. We only collect and store only the information necessary to create your RideKey and fulfill your order. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.
The app collects only the information necessary to operate and process your order: your key identifier, contact information, and shipping address. We do not share this information with third parties except as necessary to fulfill your order (e.g., shipping carriers). See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
